    Corner structures: Red sandstone

    Mortar application and content: Horizontal rounded, space between stones scored vertically. Vertical thin rounded. A thin double edged tool was used, which scored two parallel lines, leaving the mortar between the lines appear to be raised.

    Editor's Note: The location was incorrectly marked on the Roudabush Survey, placing the location just north of the Erie Canal, whereas the correct location is just south of the Erie Canal and just north of the intersection with East State Street.     This house at 3505 Butts Road was built for Nathaniel Lake in 1846, and was long referred to as the Lake Manse. It is trimmed in Medina sandstone. Richard Palmer blog.

    Editor's Note: The cut, quarried stone for the residence and out buildings came from a quarry just south, adjacent to the property.
