Mortar application and content: Horizontal rounded, space between stones scored vertically. Vertical thin rounded. A thin double edged tool was used, which scored two parallel lines, leaving the mortar between the lines appear to be raised.

This house at 3505 Butts Road was built for Nathaniel Lake in 1846, and was long referred to as the Lake Manse. It is trimmed in Medina sandstone. Richard Palmer blog.
Editor's Note: The cut, quarried stone for the residence and out buildings came from a quarry just south, adjacent to the property.
